“The people are my record company.”
I started this record company for all of the people that have always been told no. So many people ask me to do collaborations and I want to start a label to do collaborations with people. So many people message me to do collaborations. People who were told they were too old, not the right body type or complexion. They didn’t fit into the repressed fantasy of corporate America’s fantasy of corporate America.
I’m an independent artist. The Bay Area needs a label that can capture the energy of what the Bay Area is. A place of artistic freedom. We are different, we take chances and don’t jump on every trend and have a rich history of music here that is so diverse. I want to create a label that reflects that.
We are not making this up. This is very real. We are not a contrived idea or concept of what artists should be rather a reality.

Miko Marks is featured on the second Storefront Records release, “Rolling Through California”. Her incredible voice can also be heard throughout “White Jesus Black Problems”.
Miko was recently selected to the Country Music Television Next Women of Country Class of 2022.

The Oakland Roots
Storefront Records founder and artist Fantastic Negrito collaborated with The Oakland Roots to record their official theme.
This was the first release on Storefront Records and was filmed at Revolution Plantation.
